The students have no previous experience of Jeeves. The aim of the project is to show how simple it is to build an app in Jeeves.

The students are on their third year of the bachelor’s program “ERP systems and service design” and have recently had a three-day introductory course in how Jeeves ERP systems’ technical architecture is structured and how it works. Andreas Nilsson is one of the initiators of the project and is a doctoral student at the Department of Computer and Systems Science at Stockholm University.

“The idea arose when we were discussing developments in the ERP systems industry, where Jeeves is on the cutting edge with its Apps Market,” says Nilsson. “Through the project, the students gain direct contact with the business community and the opportunity to see how it feels to produce a technical solution under real circumstances. They are naturally extremely keen to do a good job and get their teeth into Jeeves.”

Jeeves Apps Market was launched in spring 2011 and offers ERP apps developed by Jeeves’ partners and customers. The aim of the marketplace is to make it even simpler for customers to develop and maintain their ERP systems while the ability to upgrade is not affected.

“One of several advantages of Jeeves is that, as a customer, you can do a great deal yourself. The apps are an excellent example of Jeeves flexibility and how it is easy to share ERP solutions with others. During the course of the project, the students will be supervised by us at Jeeves, and the aim is for the app to be put up for sale on Jeeves Apps Market in the fall,” says Erik Mårtensson, International Sales Manager, Jeeves.

The results will be presented to Jeeves on Friday 12 October.

The bed manufacturer, based in Småland County, has two production units—one in Landsbro and one in Berga, and they have previously used two different ERP systems. Jeeves Selected is aimed at smaller companies whose ambition it is to grow and develop their business.

Viking Beds of Sweden has sales of just over SEK 70 million and employs 36 people. Its headquarters are in Landsbro, Småland County. Furniture company association Svenska möbelhandlare nominated Viking Beds of Sweden as the best brand of bed on the market, three years in a row. Viking Beds of Sweden was founded in 2002.

This is the result of a partnership agreement between Jeeves and QlikTech, an internationally leading supplier of solutions for user-driven Business Intelligence, BI. The built-in tool comprises around ten standard QlikView applications, including analysis views for order intake, stock trends and financial results. Jeeves will also develop apps based on QlikView.

QlikView is one of the most attractive tools for business analysis and visualization. Up until now it has mainly been used by larger companies, but this is starting to change.

Its customer base covers the oil, petrochemical, wind power and heavy industries. Hytorc chose Jeeves’ ERP system solution with the aim of gaining an overview of its operations. Jeeves’ partner Merit Consulting is behind the deal. The deal consists of a group license for Jeeves Universal and includes purchasing, logistics, stock, sales and accounting, along with product management, service, leasing and support for training activities. Industry-specific functionality in terms of service and leasing has been developed specially for the offshore industry by Merit Consulting via Jeeves Apps Teknologi.

“As Hytorc not only distributes and manufactures tools but also offers product development, service, leasing and staff training, we needed an ERP system that could provide an overarching solution. Merit’s industry-specific solution meets our needs and can also be developed further as Hytorc changes and grows,” says Christer Djuve, Vice President of Hytorc.

They are the second firm in the Nyblomgruppen group of companies to go with Jeeves’ Jeeves Universal, which will enable them to manage the greater flow of orders and continue their growth. Jeeves’ partner Infocube arranged the transaction. “As wholesalers we generate a high volume of transactions, which demands a high level of speed and security from an ERP system. Right now we are doing many tasks manually, so Jeeves will save us a lot of time while offering us new ways to receive complete and detailed customer information including purchasing statistics, order status and inventory levels,” said Magnusson & Freij CEO Krister Pettersson.

Magnusson & Freij’s product range includes over 7,000 consumable items in categories such as office supplies, toilet paper and paper towels, cleaning and protection paper and dining and catering. The company has been in a partnership for several years with Nyblomgruppen, a group of 14 established family firms from all over Sweden.

“At Nyblomgruppen we have a joint product catalog, and one of Jeeves’ many advantages is that now we can transfer product and pricing information from Jeeves directly to our company. The ERP system allows us to rationalize and automate numerous tasks, which makes us more efficient and paves the way for further growth,” said Pettersson.

The initial stage of the project is a feasibility study, which will then move to an implementation phase. Everything should be complete by the end of the year. The transaction comprises accounting, purchasing and e-commerce.

Magnusson & Freij was founded in Gothenburg in 1958, and today it has about SEK 160 million in turnover. Its customers include the City of Gothenburg, SKF, Stena Line, Volvo, Göteborgs Kex and Astra.

BV Acquisitions controlled after the initial acceptance period shares representing approximately 97 per cent of the shares and votes in Jeeves and warrants representing approximately 99 per cent of the outstanding warrants in Jeeves. After the extended acceptance period, which expired on 29 May 2012, BV Acquisitions holds approximately 98 per cent of the shares and votes in Jeeves and 100 per cent of the outstanding warrants in Jeeves. BV Acquisitions has also initiated a compulsory acquisition procedure regarding the remaining shares in Jeeves.

Based on the above, the board of directors of Jeeves considers that it is no longer justified for Jeeves to remain listed and has therefore, on 1 June 2012, resolved to request that the shares of Jeeves are delisted from NASDAQ OMX Stockholm, Small Cap.

Rodebjer has twelve employees, and offices in Stockholm and New York.

The transaction with Jeeves entails total support for Rodebjer’s entire operation, encompassing production, logistics, accounting and sales. The transaction consists of a license for the ERP system Jeeves ERP Fashion and the PDM system Jeeves Design Management. The ERP system solution will be implemented beginning in June, so that it will be operational by August in time for sales of Rodebjer’s 2013 spring and summer collection.
